Integrated Smart Sensing Systems - developing the capability of the Victorian Department of Primary Industry to use wireless sensing and microtechnology to improve the agricultural and environmental outcomes for Victorians.

Our aims are:
Increase the technical capability of our Department to use Sensor Networks by:

• Evaluating wireless sensor network systems from Crossbow Technologies, Sensicast and CENS.
• Conducting two pilot studies involving intensive monitoring of an orchard, and sensing and control of items in storage
• Exploring methods of data analysis and visualisation specific for the requirements of large amounts of data

Disseminate our current capability to our Department in:

• Applications of molecularly imprinted polymers and microtechnology gained in collaboration with RMIT University
• Small-scale sensor networks gained during several recent pilot projects

Utilise these existing and developing capabilities to develop project with an agricultural and environmental focus

• using microtechnology in collaboration with RMIT University
• using wirelessly networked sensors in collaboration with a broad range of partners
